YMCA Cricket Club caters for all youths interested in giving Cricket a try or in developing their Cricket skills. Our Girls section looks after ages 8-19 in a number of different categories outlined below.

Mini Girls - 3^rd and 4^th class
Minor Girls - 5th & 6th Class
Junior Girls - 1^st and 2^nd year
U15 - aged under 15 on 1/09/2017
U17 - aged under 17 on 1/09/2017 

TRAINING

Mini, Minor and Junior girls train weekly on Monday evenings from  4.30 - 6.0pm, commencing on 16^th April through to 20 August.  Whilst most U15s opt to join only the Summer Academy girls U15 are welcome to join only the weekly training if preferred.

6th Class girls and Junior Girls may also participate in the Academy, starting in June (or July for those who are in 6^th class in National Primary School)

Girls in our Youth Academy may be eligible to participate in Ladies Cricket, depending on experience. Our Ladies section train on Monday evenings from 6.00 - 8.00 pm and this season there will be 2 teams playing  in the Leinster League and Cup competitions. There is no additional cost to participate in the Ladies section.  

MATCHES

Mini Girls are eligible to partake in mixed "Blitz" events over the season. At a Blitz the team will play 2-4 short games using lightweight equipment where the focus is on fun. All players get to bat and bowl in these quick fire games. There are no winners, just the opportunity to play and develop Cricket skills.

Minor, Junior and U15 Girls teams are entered into their respective Leinster Youth League and Cup competitions. Matches are played throughout the season starting in May for Minor and Junior and end of June for U15.

GU15 & U17 Youth Academy
The YMCA Cricket Club Youth Academy caters for Boys and Girls throughout the school summer holidays. Commencing on 5 June, it runs 3 mornings a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) for 11 weeks until 23 August from 10.30 am  - 1.00pm.
