A new professional and the signing of former Hampshire player Sean Terry adds up to exciting times at Claremont Road.

Looking ahead to the new campaign Club secretary James Fitzgerald said: “We are looking forward to the season ahead and, as always, we’ll be hopeful of being in the shake-up for silverware when the end of the summer rolls around.

"It’s great to welcome all-rounder Parko back to the club after a break of five or six years and his return coincides with the arrival of Sean Terry from England.

"Sean is the 24-year-old batsman is the son of former England Test batsman Paul Terry and he has some first-class experience for Hampshire. More importantly, he is Ireland qualified so we have even more reason to hope that he is successful on this side of the Irish Sea.

“If you add those two gentlemen to the likes of Tom Fisher, Yaqoob Ali Shah, Robbie Garth, Jack and Harry Tector, JJ Cassidy, Ruadhan Jones, Sean Mcauley, Padraic Flanagan and others, we like to think we have a good blend of youth, experience and plenty of home-grown talent.

"Whether it’s enough to bring us success in league or cup campaigns only time will tell but our emphasis this season will, above all, be to enjoy our cricket and, under our new captain, Simmi Singh, we think it will be an attacking form of the game that will be as fun for those watching from the boundary as for those out there in the heat of battle.

"We look forward to seeing our opponents and their supporters in Claremont Road during the summer and offering them a warm YMCA welcome.”
