YM won the toss and decided to bat on an average looking track. A good opening spell from Naseer Shaukat and Tipu Gull kept the innings tight and when Reinhardt went for 38 things were precariously balanced with the score on 96/5. James Parkinson (30) and a fine innings from 'Shami' (61) took the score along to 203/9.
A 10th wicket partnership between Lee Cole (18) and 'The Captain' Warwick Armstrong 8* (his last innings as a single man) gave a final total of 235.

The intermittent showers meant that the match was reduced to 48 overs, but the D/L calculation didn't add anything to Rush's target. Good opening spells from Reinhardt Strydom and James Parkinson meant that Rush were never at the races. Wickets began to tumble as the rate increased, and eventually Rush fell 47 runs short. Bowling honours were shared between James Parkinson (4/16) and Reinhardt Strydom (4/33).
