Captain : D. Alan Lewis

RHB, RAM;

Born in Cork, this former Irish Cricket Captain who won 121 caps (1984-1997) and is now a current International rugby referee has been there, done it all, and has the t-shirt(s) to prove it...
Was a major influence as YM dominated Leinster cricket in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
A man for the big occasion Lew can lay claim to the following;

- most M-O-M awards in Leinster Senior Cricket with 13.
- only Irish player to win M-O-M awards in both the Benson & Hedges Cup and Nat West Trophy.
- in 1984 became the 1st Irish-born player to score 1000 runs in a season.
- first class average of 53.33

Players
Aaron M. Bailey Member profile Aaron M. Bailey
RHB, LAM;

Aaron is currently in the Leinster U17 training squad after a couple of very good years for both the successful 3rd & 2nd XIs at Claremont Road. Forced his way into the 2nds as an opening bat during 2012 and can be called upon to break up opposing partnerships with his left-arm pace. Easily one of the best fielders in the Club, covering the ground quickly and taking excellent catches in the deep. Also a very good hockey player representing Leinster in that code as well, however 2013 could see a major step in cementing his name on the 2nds teamsheet while progressing to grab a spot on the 1st XI.
J.J. Cassidy Member profile J.J. Cassidy
RHB, WK;

JJ came into the 2nd team mid-way through the 2012 season and cemented his place with a great display behind the stumps against Clontarf in Castle Avenue. Is a genuine wicket-keeper, with good hands and can look forward to the 2013 season with great confidence.
Raj Chawla Member profile Raj Chawla
RHB, RAM;

Rajesh has recently moved from Old Belvedere CC where he captained the 1st XI in Division 2 during the 2011 season.
Angus R. Dunlop Member profile Angus R. Dunlop
RHB, RAO;

Former Irish captain and one of Ireland's most-capped internationals with 114 appearances (1990-2000), tall powerfully built batsman particularly strong off his pads. Scored 4 centuries for Ireland. Was a much underused and under-rated off-spinner. Fine slip fielder.
Scored an unbeaten century (101*) versus the touring South Africans led by the late Great Hansie Cronje in Castle Avenue, Dublin (1998) and an excellent 148 v MCC at Malahide,Dublin (1996).
Captained Ireland 40 times and was another major figure in the YM team that dominated Leinster cricket in the late 1980s early 1990s.
Best remembered for his one over aginst the touring Australians 1993 when Allan Border hit him for 5 sixes off the first five balls of an over. The sixth, we'll let him tell you...
In his final match versus Scotland in 2000 he scored arguably his finest innings of 150, finishing with a 1st class average of 43.07 and retired far too early and probably at the peak of his powers to 'put his feet up'...
Bobby Gamble Member profile Bobby Gamble
RHB, RFM;

New recruit for the 2013 season.
Ryan G. Hohn Member profile Ryan G. Hohn
RHB, WK;

Ryan was another member of the successful 3rd XI, in what was definitely a team effort. Showed glimpses of his potential with vital contributions with the bat and in the field where his fielding was as good as anyone in the club. Safe pair of hands and can keep when needed.
Carl R. Hosford Member profile Carl R. Hosford
RHB, LB;

Opening bat who has scored over 3,000 Leinster senior runs with 1/100 & 21/50s. Former Irish U19 player who played in the 1998 U19 ICC World Cup.
The other half of the Trinity College C.C. & Wesley College connection within the team and another one with plenty of time on his hands due to being a teacher.
Former winner of the Barclay Walker Award in 1992 & 1995.
Ross Johnson Member profile Ross Johnson
RHB, RAO;

Ross is a very powerful batsman, very good fielder with a strong arm and can bowl either spin or seam depending on his 'mood!'.
Plenty of 1st XI experience he has not played much cricket recently but hopefully next season(2009) we can see him on the field taking teams apart which he is quite capable of doing.
Card-Shark, Pool-Hustler and currently running in tries galore for Wesley 1st XV.
Graeme A. McCoy Member profile Graeme A. McCoy
WK, RHB;

Return of the 'Muck'...the prodigal son has returned after a brief stint down the road at Sydney Parade with Pemboke CC in 2010. That knock on his head has finally worn off and he has come around to his senses. Barclay Walker Award winner in 1998.
Chris P. Minch Member profile Chris P. Minch
RHB, OB;

Another former St.Andrews Secondary School pupil. Tall elegant top order batsman who has yet to fulfill his undoubted ability and promise. Has gained senior experience at DUCC and has worked hard on his position at the top of the order & spin bowling. Still to make those big innings count but has shown enough to prove that he can be more consistent.
Fields like Steve Harmison. Won the Barclay Walker Award in 2006.
Matthew W.C. Quirke Member profile Matthew W.C. Quirke
RHB;

Winner of the Barclay Walker Award in 2009.
Quirkie has played in and out of the 1sts, 2nds & 3rds over the last couple of seasons. A top order bat who has lots and lots of ability which he showed in making a memorable 158* for the 3rds in 2011.
Needs to be more consistent and make the No.1 or 2 position his at the top of the order. Another to watch in 2012.

Andrew S. Walker Member profile Andrew S. Walker
RHB;

A talented schoolboy cricketer and another who has won the Barclay Walker Award in 1999.
Andy is an excellent Hockey player who has played and captained YMCA.
Returned to the ranks after a number of years and looked like he had never been away. Brought calmness and a sound techique to the top of the order and was pivotal as the 2nds won promotion to division 3.
Steven D.G. Walsh Member profile Steven D.G. Walsh
WK, RHB, RAM;

After years of loitering at the edge of the 1st XI, Stevie claimed a regular place in 2011 as a lower order batsman and a fine fielder. An occasional wicket keeper he is a a genuine all-rounder. Won the Barclay Walker Award in 2002. Also plays rugby at Old Wesley RFC.
Simon B. Wilson-Moore Member profile Simon B. Wilson-Moore
RHB, RAM;

Former 1st XI Captain, Simon is a consistent performer with both bat and ball.
Born in South Africa, he is an unusual 'Afrikkaner' as he has a quiet persona preferring to let his actions on the field speak for him.
Has played some fine knocks for the 1st team and is more than capable of recording his maiden ton for the club this season...
