Leinster Middle B League
Sunday 26th July 2008
at Claremont Road

The Hills rolled into Claremont Road, showed their experience at this level, aided by a fine 105 from a certain Mustaba and ended the 2nds unbeaten run in the Middle B league.

Batting first it was nip and tuck between both teams in the early stages, however once he survived a very good shout for lbw Mustaba held the visitors innings together as the final total of 256 was to prove a daunting one for a very inexperienced YM side.
The experienced Stuart McCready bowled very well and should have been rewarded for his efforts. Josh Van De Flier making his 2nd team debut at the age of 15 bowled very well at the death 2/28 and is one to watch for sure. The rest of the bowling was ragged and poor.

However with Smacker in your side anything is possible and after 5 overs the score stood at 32/0, but this was as good as it got. The blend of youth and experience did not fire and no batsman got to grips with tidy bowling from the visitors as they ended up victors by a big margin of 167 runs.

C'est la vie! And we move onto next week. Those young players involved (there were 5 players aged under 15 in the team) will now know what is expected and will live to fight another day.
