The 2nd team played their first league game for over a month due to the wet weather conditions and nothing has really changed. Still winning, still top of the league, Top Of The World! Well we took on the Village of Malahide (4th team) and won convincingly.
Winning another toss and inserting the opposition the team stuck to their game plan in 'Fortress Claremont' as a strong bowling line-up restricted Malahide to 126, bowling them all out in under 35 overs.
Umar was deadly accurate 2/11, Smacker the old stager 2/18, Sonny ever dependable, Neelo polishing off the tail 3/32 and Shami. The fielders backed up the bowlers with 6 cts, a run-out and a stumping as the visitors final total, despite a nice little cameo from Alan 'The Legend' Brophy, was never going to be enough to trouble the home team.
It was the speed in which this team chases down its targets that also impresses. Rob Whyte 62* (10x4s) and Johan Van De Flier 24* (3x4s/1x6) shared a 2nd wkt partnership of 89 to reach the target in under 25 overs to record a 9 wicket victory.
That's now 7 wins from 7 games and the 'Hits just keep on Spinning'
