Match report YM Salver T20

Derek Dockrell's 4th XI recorded their 1st win of the season versus Dundrum 2nds, who had earlier beaten YM by 9 runs in a league match.
And it was the captain who led from the front with the bat.

Dundrum batted first and helped by poor fielding and dropped catches reached 78/2 off the first 10 overs. The introduction of spin was to change all that as the visitors collapsed to 91/7. A few scampered runs at the end brought their total up to 112/8. Sivan Mangat 5-1-21-2 & Mitch Thompson 5-1-17-1 were the pick of the YM bowlers.

In reply YM lost the early wicket of Philip Francis caught behind down the leg side and Mangat was bowled to leave YM 21/2. However the Captain (38) was in control running quickly between the wickets with the much much younger Cameron Ruttle (43) and with the odd boundary thrown in, the 3rd wicket partnership of 75 was to prove a winning one. Three more wickets to the visitors were never going to be enough as recent century maker Zain Khan & Roy 'I don't want to bat!' Maltby got the team home with 3 balls to spare, winning by 5 wkts.
