Sam M.Murphy is the 1st recipient of the new Kamal Merchant Batting Cup.
 
At the recent Cricket Ireland Awards Kamal was named as Coach of the Year.

When you add in that his 3rd XI protégés won the Cricket Leinster League Division 5 (their 4th successive promotion) it is very apt that the Club highlighted Kamals' fantastic contribution to Claremont Road, particularly all the youth players that have benefited enormously from his vast array of skills and advice.

So,hence this award, which was presented to Sam Murphy on behalf of Kamal by Youth Administrator Aideen Rice.

This was Sam's first year at YMCA, having moved from Mullingar CC and he had a exceptional senior debut with the Club playing for both the 2nd & 3rd XIs.
