Yaqoob Ali Shah YMCA Clubman of The Year...

04 Oct 2011

Ian Lewis 'Clubman of The Year' Award 2011

In memory of the Late Great Ian Lewis, who gave so much to the Club, an award 'Clubman of the Year' was set up by his son Alan Lewis and YMCA which was presented for the 1st time at the inaugral YMCA awards night recently.

The first recipient was Yaqoob Ali Shah who just completed his first summer in Claremont Road.
Yaqoob had previously played for the Sandyford CC and in moving to YMCA jumped up a few leagues turning out for both the 2nds and 1sts on occasions. His unique spin bowling has been a major factor in the 2nds earning promotion from Division 4 this summer. With a smile on his face Yaqoob always gave his all and has been a fantastic acquisition to the club.
A regular at nets practice, first to pay his subscription (future recipients take note) he thoroughly deserved this acolade.
