YM Team of the Season.
Just for a bit of fun, the selection of a YM senior team of the season, those players who performed heroics for the mens XI's throughout the Summer of 2010.
YMCA Select XI 2010
1. D.Alan Lewis (1sts)
continues to roll back the years, highlight 100 versus Railway Union in the senior cup.
2. David M. Streek * (2nds)
it's my team so I'm in it! Also hit 1st 100 for YM.
3. Sean C. Mcauley (1sts)
new recruit from Malahide who made big impression, highlight 77 v Merrion 1sts.
4. Lee C. Cole + (1sts/2nds)
Irish U15 international, 'Champagne moment of the season' grabbing 6 cts in 2nd team performance v Merrion 2nds.
5. Callum Donnelly (2nds/3rds)
part of the successful YM U15 team, selected on the Leinster U15 team and scoring his maiden senior 100 for the 3rd XI.
6. Kamal Merchant (3rds)
with over 700 runs & nearly 30 wickets another oldie who rolled back the years, a major influence in the 3rd team winning promotion from division 8.
7. James N. Parkinson (1sts)
took his tally of wickets to 70 in 2 seasons with YM (nearly as many as the beers he would drink in a week!) and hit his 1st 50 for the club.
8. Dale McDonough-Kinkade (2nds/3rds)
began the season winning the SCT schools cricket cup with Kings
Hospital, kept wicket admirably for the 2nds and finished with over 300
runs for the successful 3rd team.
9. Jack Tector (1st/2nds/3rds)
another YM international this time at U13 level, one for the future.
10. James Smith (2nds/3rds)
played for the Leinster U15 team & successful 3rd XI and took almost 20 wickets for both the 2nds/3rds.
11. David Cooke (3rds)
another oldie who was top wicket taker in the club grabbing 30 wickets for the mighty 3rds.
