    Derek is a stalwart of YM and is a hard hitting top order batsmen. Was Instrumental in keeping the 3rd XI in the Intermediate A League in 2008 after the team suffered a terrible start to the campaign. Scored over 300 runs with a top score of 106.
    In 2010 he marshalled the 3rd XI to league promotion from the LCU Division 8 and took the team to the Middle 2 Cup Final and semi-final of the YM Salver.
    Derek was President of YMCA in 2011 & 2012. 
    Derek's son George (who he didn't bring to YM!!!) is a current Irish International & Somerset CCC player.
