The 3rd XI played their first home fixture of the season and simply forgot the basics of cricket.
In recording their total of 109 they made the cardinal sin of only batting for 30 of their allotted 40 overs!
And in between a mixture of short balls that sat up to be hit, too many 4-balls and a crucial dropped catch they never really tested the visitors.

On the positive side 5 under-16 players took to the field, one of which, Josh Van De Flier looked the part in scoring a breezy 17 at the top of the order and then taking the 3 Merrion wickets to fall.
There is much to look forward to in these young players and with hard work at the practice nets and commitment results can improve throughout the season.
