The 2nd XI began June just as they had finished May with another impressive display to record their 6th win on the bounce.
Sandyford won the toss and with no hesitation decided to make first use of the artificial wicket and a particular short boundary on one side. Both their openers batted sensibly and made the YM bowlers work hard. The fielding was good although catches were spilled as the bowlers toiled away. The Nawab of New Delhi(1/24) was as tight as ever, Ross Johnson(2/36) bowled extremely well at the end of the innings and Benn Hoey(2/44) bowled a great line and length to record his best bowl of the season so far. Apart from the openers no other Sandyford batsman really got going and their innings closed on 185/7.
The YM openers got the hosts of to a bright and breezy start, Chris Minch 41, Rob Whyte 23 and then Ross Johnson 74 (5x4s, 6x6s) who produced a controlled and powerful display of clean hitting which simply blew the Sandyford bowlers away.
The target was reached within 25 overs as YM won by 6 wkts and confirmed their leadership at the top of the Middle B League.
