"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" and not even a glimpse of Mary Poppins...this was for real and the records tumbled under a scorching sun down at The Maws home of North Kildare.

Firstly, YM with only 2 front line bowlers available for this match kept going in the field as North Kildare posted 224/10. A fine century by T.Satchwell led the way as the hosts easily recorded the highest total against the 2nds this season.
Late wickets and held catches insured that the final total was lower than expected. Tom Lynch bowled an amazing over claiming 4/7 which also included a wicket of a no-ball.
What happened next was just record-breaking and breath-taking.
Stuart McCready 106* (16x4s, 4x6s) & Rob Whyte 92* (14x4s, 1x6) cruised past the North Kildare total of 224 with a fantastic opening partnership of 228* to win by 10 wkts.
This partnership saw a;
* record 1st wicket partnership for YM 2nds
* record partnership for any wicket for YM 2nds
* maiden YM 50 for Rob Whyte
* maiden 2nd XI century for Stuart McCready

It was a fitting way to end the month of May for the 2nds.
