A return match with North Kildare who have had better fortunes in the league since we met them in our very first encounter back in May.

Winning the toss YM decided to bat and had a steady start putting on 41 for the 1st wicket before losing Dale McDonough-Kincaid who battled hard on a slow difficult track. North Kildare then got rid of the experienced Simon Wilson-Moore and 'Shami' to peg YM back to 70/3 in the 17th over. Johan Van Der Flier then put on 48 with Streek for the 4th wicket and things looked promising at 118/3. The run-rate was good but a needless run out put paid to that. Ryan Bailey played sensibly but got a brute of a delivery and departed with the score on 141/5 in the 34th over. Ryan Hohn got a poor decision to make it 144/6.
The visitors then got rid of Kamal Merchant and Neel Bhandari to reduce YM to 163/8, 41 overs gone. Warwick Armstrong (17) added 24 valuable runs for the 9th wicket to help Streek make it to his 100 (10x4s, 2x6s, 124 balls) just before the heavens opened and tea was taken with 45 overs bowled. After tea Armstrong and Umar Jehangir took the score to 214 before the home side were bowled out in the 50th over. The final total was helped by North Kildare bowling 43 extras, 39 of them wides.

In reply YM did not bowl great at the start however Umar Jehangir clean bowled their Captain with the score on 13. After that the bowling was ragged as the visitors tucked into anything loose putting on 71 runs for the 2nd wicket and looking at ease.
Then Simon Wilson-Moore stole the show, bowling the right line and length, he produced an over which turned the game around for YM. His 7th over recorded 3 wickets as North Kildare collapsed from 84/1 to 85/4. Next over Shami also chipped in as Neel Bhandari took an excellent catch at backward point to make the score 85/5.
Then the rain returned. Stopped and play resumed for about an over. Then another downpour which put paid to the match. Game Abandoned. 10pts each.
Disappointing end.
