In a must win game for both teams, The Hills still in with a chance for league honours and YMCA still fighting to avoid relegation, this was a match not short of any passion or desire.

The Hills lost the toss and were predictably inserted for an 11am start. Parkinson opened the bowling and bowled with good pace, though not so good control, allowing Calder to contribute a fighting 30.

The Hills reached 122 off 30 overs were well placed to post a total of 250 plus. With the score on 130 for 3 and Bray and Baumgart batting comfortably the game turned in the space of a blink when Bray was run out for 22 and Baumgart was stumped for for 38.

The tail never wagged and The Hills were eventually bowled out for a disappointing and below par 176 in the 48th over.

Parkinson came back well to finish with 4/29 off 10 and was well supported by Nandi 2/38 off 10, and Harte 2/15 off 5.

YM got off to a solid start putting on 59 for the first wicket and 52 for the second. With 65 required off 20 overs it should have been a formality, but YM tried hard to self destruct and very nearly succeeded.

But whereas The Hills tail failed, YM's succeeded with more than useful contributions from Beacroft (16), and Wilson-Moore (22*), and came home in the 48th over by 2 wickets.

Hero for YMCA was opener James Shortt who made an excellent 60 from the top of the order.

Best of the bowling came from Mark Dwyer who bagged 4/29 off his 10, whilst Brannigan and Bray bowled well, The Hills simply didn't have enough runs on the board.

YM now play North County and Railway Union in their last two fixtures, whilst a tough finish, another win may be enough to avoid the drop.
