After a long wait for the rain to stop and the ground to dry the visitors won the toss and had a bat first.
An early success saw James Parkinson force K.Carroll to top edge, Shami taking an easy catch at mid off. Two more wickets fell before the end of the 10th over as the scoreboard read 64/3. However the Railway batsman were scoring freely McDonnell (45 from 42 balls) and S.Ullah (37* from 21 balls) the highlight being their 5th wicket partnership of 58. Add in 13 wides and no balls and the final 10 overs realised 86 runs, a pretty good effort to leave a final total of 150/5.
Rob Nandi bowled well recording figures of 4-0-27-2 and Paul Beacroft after an expensive first over came back well to finish with 4-0-22-1. The fielding and catching was generally good but Railway found boundaries with ease scoring 48 of the last 5 overs.

In reply Alan Lewis (36 from 34 balls) and Reinhardt Strydom (35 from 31 balls) made the perfect start with a 75 run partnership for the 1st wicket. After both departed, Strydom to a dubious run out, the rest of the batsmen hit a brick wall. The Railway bowlers Kapoor and Lambert put the brakes on and forced errors as YM slipped to 94/5. This was highlighted between the 10th and 17th overs when only 23 runs were scored. 'Shami' brought some excitment to the fore as he hit 28 from 15 balls (4x6s) but it flattered to deceive. It was too little too late as only 52 runs were scored from the last 10 overs. Railway only bowled 3 wides in their 20 overs.
