Semi-Final U11 Leinster Plate Cup

A confident and young YM U11 team arrived at Terenure to take on arch rivals CYM.
Batting first the YM opener Ryan Souter attacked from the start as 19 runs were scored in the very first over of the innings. Unfortunately Ryan fell in the 2nd over but he had set the tone for the innings. James Carson and Harry Tector then stepped up the pace as 51 was reached in only 6 overs. Harry Tector scoring an impressive 26 from 19 balls (5x4s) before having to retire. Josh Winston joined James Carson and these two pushed the scoring along with fine running between the wickets.
The scoreboard now read 88/3.
Cameos from Adam McCoy-Smith and Sam Streek helped the score to 106/5 and all the while James Carson played patiently before he was dismissed scoring 24 from 44 balls (4x4s).
Adam Tuite and Tim Tector (both players who get their talent from their Mums) put together a nice little partnership as the innings closed on 116/5.
A very competitive score.

In reply YM got the vital wicket of the CYM opening player Hogan when he was run out by Harry Tector.
After that only Fitzgerald (25 retired) posed any threats to the YM bowlers as they struggled against line and length bowling and fine fielding.
James Carson took 2/20 and both Adam McCoy-Smith 2/9 & Ryan Souter 3/10 bowled particularly well.
Sam Streek took the last wicket to fall with almost 6 overs to spare as they home side were dismissed for 66.

A Great Team Performance and a place in the Plate Final to look forward to.
