This Saturday the 18th of August, Karl Medcalf's YMCA 4th XI visit Observatory Lane, Rathmines to take on Leinster CC 5ths in the Cricket Leinster Junior Cup semi-final and a place up for grabs in the Final.

The other semi-final sees Bagenalstown 2nds CC host AIB CC.

The last time a YM team won the Junior Cup was way back in 1984 under the captaincy of Donnie Thompson when they defeated Aer Lingus CC.

It is safe to say that very few of this current crop of YM players were even born the last time YM played in a Junior Cup Final when Aer Lingus CC reversed the 1984 result and won in 1990. Well, maybe Cookie!
