Albert Van Der Merwe is a current Irish International (14 caps) having just been involved in the recent 2011 World Cup in India. He made his Irish debut in 2010 against the West Indies A team in Stormant.
Born in Bellville, Capetown, SA, he was first seen in Ireland playing for Derriaghy CC in the North, before he was snapped up by The Hills CC.
A leading player for The Hills in Leinster cricket his move to Claremont Road as both a player and a valuable member of our youth academy coaching team. Missed part of the 2011 season due to injury and returned to make vital contributions in end of season relegation battle.
Was recently selected for the Irish squad to travel to Kenya & UAE in the early part of 2012.
